Hi everyone! I’m Fynn, a designer at Absolutely Games, and with the release of our first demo for Fangtopia today, I wanted to write a small devlog introducing the game and the team behind it.

Who are Absolutely Games?

We’re an independent team based in Guildford UK. We’re passionate about strategy and tactics games of all varieties, and we released our first game earlier this year: Classified: France ‘44.

What is Fangtopia?

Fangtopia is a relaxing building game inspired by titles like Dorfromantik. As a loyal servant of Viktor the Pumpkin King, you’ll be expanding his spooky kingdom one tile at a time, creating a world suitable for your not-so-scary monsters. 

Why are you making it?

We started thinking about Fangtopia as our dev time on Classified was coming to an end. We loved playing Dorfromantik and games similar to it, but found that the aesthetics of these games tended to draw from similar idyllic pastoral settings. We saw Fangtopia as an opportunity to do our own spooky take on the genre and introduce some gameplay twists that we wanted to see.

When will it be done?

While we don’t have a firm timeline for when Fangtopia will be released, we hope to gradually iterate on & improve the game over the next few months. Who knows, the game may be ready in time for Halloween!
